mike.march
After about a year of resisting, I've taken the plunge. Will report back.
Dad3353
If I was considering a Bentley, I think I'd hire one for a period, to convince myself. Are these top-end units not available anywhere to hire, too..? Paying a few weeks rental to be sure should be possible, I'd have thought..? jimfist
http://www.g66.eu is the European distributor for the AxeFxII. I believe there is a 15 day trial period with full refund if returned (not including shipping). The Fractal Audio Systems forum is also very generous with their time and advice, and many are willing to have a meet and greet to demo the unit for anyone who may be a prospective buyer if you live within a relatively short traveling distance. No lie that the AxeFxII can be a complex beast if you want to push its limits. But it doesn't need to be difficult to get great tones out of it for bass without a lot of muss and fuss. @ Bass_Juice: let me know if you have any questions or need some pointers and I'll be glad to help out. Interested to hear what you have to say.
Gearonimo
Okay, since it’s been years since this started let’s test how long a dead thread lasts then shall we? im on the verge of buying an AFXiii turbo for my hex bass and interested if there’s any new opinions since tech has evolved? I still have VB-99 that I love but im doing split signal work with a bass sound and a crunchy guitar powerchord sound (all good) but don’t love the guitar cab emulations for this. Is it yet viable to bypass the vb-99 altogether and mix strong bass and adjusted guitar sounds on the newest AFXiii? i had a Kemper for guitar amp sims previously which was great but im trading up for the axe since there is opportunity to input four separate channels (via a billbax separate strings box) and see what’s possible. I also had a SY-1000 but found it lower quality than the VB-99 (unexpected!). Also elevenrack (meh) and a behringer bass v-amp (which had an eternal buzzing problem till I ditched it) Edited November 23 by Gearonimo Wrong words
