The keyboard player in an old band of mine developed a rep for genius solos. Loads of used to show up just to listen to them. It pissed him off. So he just started playing amazing grace or one note or Yankee doodle for all his solos

It's even better if you've no idea what you're doing. Soloing in a completely different key makes for great mirth.

Aye! I like to play [u]all[/u] the notes at the same time, while the rest of the band point at me and shout "bass" every 8 beats.
Often, I find that being dressed as a bishop means getting away with playing all the wrong notes, all of the time.
