Peavey T40 Truss Rod Tool size

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I've just picked up a Peavey T40 in a trade and it appears to be a very nice bass indeed.

The action is a little high and I was wondering what size trussrod tool I will need. I've read that a Les Paul tool will work (5/16) but can't find that size available in the UK. A quick search on Ebay results in Gibson trussrod tools of anything between 6 and 8.5mm!

I'm guessing I would need an 8mm but wanted to check first.

Thanks for your help :)

gibson size - 5/16 of an inch
The metric equivalent is 7.94mm when I had one I found a 8mm sprocket tool designed for remote control cars and bent the rod till I could use it. If it's going to be turned reguarly source a 5/16th tool (stumac or somewhere) if you're only going to turn it once in a blue moon then you may be able to get away with a 8mm too.l..
