AM1
Howdy Tough question, but if money was no object and you could literally have any bass on the planet, what would you choose and why?
Thunderbird
Always liked the look of a Gibson grabber or a real Gene Simmons axe bass but it could all change tomorrow lol
Lozz196
A brand new Fender Pino Palladino Signature Precision.
BigRedX
I already own mine: I was interested in Gus Guitars since I first saw photos of the early prototypes in a musical instrument publication some time in the 80s, and decided that if I ever had the money and there was a bass version that would be the instrument for me. I wasn't wrong. It doesn't do everything, but then I have fairly eclectic tastes in music and there is no one instrument that does it all for me. However for a fretted stringed instrument in the bass range this one comes closer than any other. Edited October 20, 2013 by BigRedX
Myke
It would be a custom bass.. not sure what the specs would be or who would make it.. but yeah a custom bass
Muzz
I'd be on the phone to Sheldon Dingwall for an ABII 4-string with a Birdseye maple board.
AntLockyer
Very tricky. Something versatile probably. Maybe a BB2024x but then again I'd like a fender CS
antnee
Rickenbacker 4004LK
stingrayPete1977
I'd have Leo fender brought back from the dead and get him to design and build a pre eb 5 string stingray but with a six bolt neck and a wheel of fortune truss rod! chris_b
I'd keep the basses I've got and buy an Aston Martin.
discreet
I'm very happy with what I've got, but I'd quite like a 1963 P Bass, sunburst/tort/rosewood. All original w/case. Clay dots, etc. etc. Even though I don't like sunburst. Or tort. Or rosewood... and an Ampeg SVT CL/Classic 8X10. And someone to carry it all. See? If money was no object I'd be wasting it left right and centre.
EssentialTension
Keep what I've got and pay the mortgage.

6feet7
I've already got mine too - a GUS G3 Active Retro No other bass feels 'so right' when strapped on - everything else just looks the same as every other bass or guitar made in the last 60 years. Ian Savage
I suppose I could be tempted by a 'proper' Stingray (even though I'm totally happy with my Vintage) but I'd not be able to relax gigging something really expensive, kinda the reason the most expensive bass I realistically aspire to is a US SUB... paul_5
Dunno, maybe a 5 string unlined fretless Jazz with two humbuckers (but switchable between single coil and humbucking) and a John East pre. Swamp ash body , maple neck, ebony fingerboard, tort plate and olympic white finish. Not that I've given it MUCH thought. Pretty please... icastle
An Overwater Perception 5. I had an OP4 a few years ago but moved it on because '5' is my default setting nowadays and it was just gathering dust.
