CHRISDABASS Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 hey having just put a deposite down on a sadowsky uv70 5 string (my first 5) im a little concerned that i dont have a clue what strings to buy for it! do i need a taper wound B string?? it seems sadowsky use them but ive heard mixed reports about them??............hmmm any advice would be great!! cheers Quote
El_JimBob Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 (edited) not essential - it really depends on what gauge you choose and how comfortably it sits over the saddle - i have a G&L 5string and was worried that my low B was a little indistinct, so i had Picato strings make me some taperwound replacements - can't say i really noticed a difference - if anything, the taperwound is harder to intonate correctly, altho it does fit in the saddle better.... Give the stock strings a good play when it arrives and see what you think.... Edited June 21, 2008 by El_JimBob Quote
