I have just acquired through ebay a Tanglewood Bassmaster funk bass that has had a tough life, but is all there, picked it up for 45 notes, so hopefully after much fettling this should be a nice bass.

The action is awful, the 3 strings are rusted, the electrics have bluetack on and the body has several layers of hand applied paint on it, the neck is badly fitted to the neck pocket, paint layers stopping it from sitting properly.

So, last night, stripped it all apart, sanded the paint of the face of the body to reveal a nice natural finish, but it is marked so might look to paint it once it has been brought back from its multi-layered hell.

Can't find much about these but what I have found is very positive, it is a nice weight and has a nice feel even in its current state, so I am hopeful this won't be a waster of effort.

What do you guys know about these?
