How about an Ibanez AGB 140 or AGB 200 if you want a short scale?
I will be putting an AGB 140 in the for sale section soon if that is of interest .

There were many basses that were unique to the 1960's but there is a reason why very few of them made out of that decade.

If you want a 60's look, [i]and still sound good[/i], check out a fiesta red Fender Precision and a set of flats.

Mosrite or clone. There's a modern Aria version (as well as a 60s one) although it has inappropriate J-style pickups. Hallmark make one that's more authentic, although it's not on their current website (you can find photos of them on the Mosrite Forum).

Hagstrom, Mosrite, and Vox were some of the working 60's basses. Gibson EB series were biggies too.
