aende
So, I now have a 4u rack case for my GK 1001rb ii. The Plan; Mount the GK in the bottom 2u Leave a 1u space Mount a tuner in the top 1u At the back Mount power conditioner 1u bottom Mount a half tray + Tech21 VT DI preamp 1 u middle Mount a wireless 1u top The plan is to wire up so that I have a line splitter (Boss LS-2) on the floor and switching my signal between the GK preamp and the Tech 21 VT DI preamp which will driver the effects return on the GK (effectively bypassing the GK pre amp) Any thoughts or problems you can see? (aside weight!)
EBS_freak
Depending upon the rack case and the proximity you stand to your rig, you may want to mount your tuner to the bottom... or at least but it up next to the amp with the blank above it. Doesn't happen at every gig but with some rack cases, the view of the tuner can be obscured if looking top down... if you get what I mean. I need to move mine from the top for this very reason... but have not had the enthusiasm to get the screwdriver out yet. I'm guessing the cooling of your amp will be severely compromised by putting stuff behind it too... aende
Hoping that the gaps at the back of the rack will be sufficient :-s The amp cools from the top, so, as long as I leave a gap between the front layers, I *should* be okay.... EBS_freak
Cant say for sure without seeing the rack case but i would be surprised if you could get all that front and back in a standard rack case/bag.
