It was mainly due to Phil Lynott that I missed out on the Punk era.
Not that I'm too upset by that. I just got into it much later......a bit...sort of.

I spent a fair bit of the 70's listening to what I still consider to be one of the most underrated bands ever. Thin Lizzy.

I happened to dig out the Live and Dangerous CD earlier today and the combination of Lynott on bass and Downey on drums is still a force to be reckoned with.

In the middle of 'Emerald' a thought crept into my head. Do any other bass players have statues erected, for want of a better phrase, to them.

The only thing with that is it's of the whole band and not just Macca.

Any other individual erections?

It's my old '78 p bass which was used in the statue with Phil - the work was done in Belfast at the Guitar Emporium to make a mock up of his bass before bronzing!
