madshadows
Got a chance to buy a Peavey Milestone 3 for £50, is that a fair price and are they an OK beginner bass to replace the crap Encore bass I'm borrowing at the moment? Advice/Comments are most welcome John
allighatt0r
I learn on a Milestone three. That's an OK price for one, they are plywood bodies and pickups are pretty rubbish.
velvetkevorkian
I had one as my only bass for many years — nothing spectacular but solid. I also taught myself how to set basses up using it and found it very amenable to quite a low action, especially compared to what you often see on cheaper instruments. <------ edit: in fact that's me gigging mine Edited October 29, 2013 by velvetkevorkian
jimbaby
For 50 squids you would be hard pushed to better it, as previously stated a solid bass with a lovely slim neck and quite versatile sound wise, Peavey's take on a jazz type bass. 3below
According to website (and what I see with mine) body is alder. Lash out, spend another 30 ~ 40 quid on some pickups. You will then have a lightweight, no neck dive, slim fast neck bass. Mine came free in a hiscox case .
