How much would you pay for this? What would you fix first?

This is my first bass. I will post pictures after cleaning too.

A bit of dust, of course

I thought those stains were from milk or something. Apparently it's accumulation of dead skin cells from previous owner. Yummy!

I hope that is not blood

I only saw the broken plastic once I was seeing the pictures

Those look rusted

The bridge

Knob missing and some chips here and there on body

A tilted screw

It looks ok to me. Take off the strings, unscrew out the pups and a good clean with a damp, soapy soft cloth. No problem.

After that you won't worry about the value cos you'll play it like your other basses. (Assuming you have another bass)

Nowt wrong with it at all.

I don't have other basses. This is the first bass I have. Got it 2nd hand, coupla months ago. I think there's something wrong with the sound, woundnt know if it's the strings or the pickups.

Did this thing to clean the strings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8OYeN9mAL4

But I don't think the tone has changed.

MB1.
Might be an idea to dilute the dettol first though!
Marlowes cleaning technique isn't aimed at heavy soiling?
Judging by the basses condition those strings may never have been changed?
Probably why there tones not changed by Marloweing them!
I'd bin the strings and sort some new ones
If theres blood on the fingerboard it'll be on the strings too!
...Not to mention the dance floor?

Might be worth taking it along to the best bass/guitar tech in your area for a service and clean. He comes highly recommend and won't charge you through the nose for a below par job like R&B Music will.

Clue : you won't have to go too far to find him. ;)

Haha, I was actually there about a month ago asking how much would it be to strap the bass, and definitely will bring it on to get that done. But as for cleaning it and all, I want to give it a try myself first. Ta!
