Here's the photo for your inspiration, chosen by last month's winner Zenitram:

By entering the competition you agree to the Basschat Terms & Conditions and Forum Guidelines, which are designed to help ensure the forum remains free of offensive and/or illegal behaviour and material. In a nutshell:

1) Please avoid any content that other forum users may find offensive. If your track contains explicit lyrics, for example, then please warn other forum users so they can choose for themselves whether to listen to it.

2) Please make sure you have permission to use any 3rd party sounds included in your track (ie. sounds that you have not recorded yourself, such as samples of other people's music). The owners of Basschat except no responsibility for infringements of copyright or other forms of legal ownership, which are solely the responsibility of competition entrants. If we spot any breaches of copyright then your track will be removed from the competition.

For reference: here's a great source of copyright-free material, all available under Creative Commons license: http://www.freesound.org/

3) Entries should be written and produced during the month of the competition, taking inspiration from the photo provided. No cheating!

If you have any questions about the competition rules then please get in touch :)

Sweepstake on the time it will take Bilbo to submit an entry this month... I'm wagering it'll be there by close of play tomorrow (Saturday) :D

I'll have to get my skates on, then..! For the moment, half of my music softs are stuck on unplayable hard drives (naff interface psu...). I'll get re-installing this evening...

Very nice photo, by the way. Lots of different interpretations; I'll expect many differing themes this month... B)

Definitely having a go at this :)

I was secretly hoping to be able to go all RAWKKK!!! but if I stare at the photo long enough I am sure I will come up with something a bit more suitable :D

Might actually have time this month, already got an idea floating around. Expect 9/8 (the spookiest time sig) and heavy use of my new favourite toy, the Mid-fi Pitch Pirate.

Good evening, all...

Here we go, then, just to get the ball rolling...

'Twill not be long (love...)

...I have managed to put together enough software to be able to produce this, although most of my main 'tools' are stuck on various hard drives that I cannot access. Despite this, the basic idea came almost instantly. It's the execution that complicates things..! This is my personal interpretation of the photo; your view of things may well be different.
Enjoy...

Edit: Updated with final version, added bass and some chords corrected. Serves me right for going too fast, I suppose...

Aww no, I was going to do that... OK then, I'll do 'extreme death gothabilly crossover thrash-christiancore', instead.

Good stuff dad, an interesting take.

Mine was a nice gloomy ambient thing until I decided to stick a big dirty synthy bass line down the middle, so I'm not sure what it will end up sounding like but it should be weird.

My entry. Apologies for length and shoddiness.

That's really quite nice that. I think it deserves a couple of extra points for the title!
