hi there, i have a markbass head with one speakon output, and two 8 ohm cabs with one speakon input in each.
i need some kind of speakon adaptor so i can hook up the two cabs. can anyone tell me where i can buy one thanks.

I had the same conundrum. I made my own since I couldn't find one to buy. Wiring a speakon cable is like wiring a 13amp plug, kind of. No soldering required. Jamming two leads into one plug is an awkward bugger though. Using a knife to widen the aperture and judicious use of electrical tape worked a treat. I will investigate a neater version but for now it works great.

You can also buy splitter boxes for speakon connectors.

Or make your own as others suggest.

Or add a second socket to either/both of your cabs if the outlet plate easily allows. Just connect in parallel.

I do find it daft that so many cabs & amps come with just a single socket (though I realise it saves money) - they could at the very least have a second hole blanked off to allow for an easy DIY mod...

I'd hope that its more a problem of space with the compact amps these days. I'd be pretty peed off if they only fitted one to save a couple of quid on a £500 + amp!

i bought a splitter of obbm, i dont know why the amp and cab makers cant fit a double socket . when your spending a fortune on gear you just expect these things as standard. cheers for all suggestions.
