rhythmbug Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Chrome bumpers belong on cars, not basses. First thing I did to my P bass was rip all that gunk off, after admiring it for 15 minutes. Quote
bh2 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Bloody lovely... sonic blue is my fave colour.... 63AVRI. I love the look of the bling on these and have them on one of my Ps... not the new secret one though. Not yet anyways. Too much sponds for me... I've cured my P gas for now. Get yer bird to buy it for you! Edited November 4, 2013 by bh2 Quote
EliasMooseblaster Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Your girlfriend is wise and sage. Do not pass up this fantastic opportunity. Quote

I particularly like the deep cream dot markers. If one must have markers, make them tasty! Quote
bh2 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Guitar Village has one for £1786! I really wish I'd bought the Sonic CV Squier when I had the chance. Quote
discreet Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013
That bass is a complete and total turnoff to me. Horrid.
Oh dear. molan Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013
After looking into it I'm a bit confused... Their website says its the refinished one, although the price tends to suggest its the 63 reissue (which is the image I've posted here) I don't remember enough about the headstock or how old the neck looked to confirm which it was... think it might require another visit... maybe I'll sweep by after work today. It just looked to me like a very pleasing combination of colour and shape.
Price is right for a refin '63 depending on quality of the finish. In fact, given that it's had a couple of other things done to it then it may be a trifle high (but that's just Denmark Street prices). There seems to be a bit of a myth, mostly perpetuated by a few of the higher end vintage dealers, that refin early 60's P's are cracking the £3,500 mark but they really aren't selling at this sort of price. The quality of the refin makes a huge difference. if it's not a very good nitro then you're looking much closer to £2,500 than £3,000. Quote

Lozz196 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) Rob, without any disrespect, she sounds like she`s the brains of the outfit so do as she says and buy one. You can always make feeble protests later on such as, well you made me buy that P-Bass, as a bargaining ploy Edited November 4, 2013 by Lozz196 Quote
