Silvia Bluejay
I met Elliott at a popular jam session evening in Philadelphia last March. He has just let me know that he'll be in France at the beginning of December and would like to stop in London if he can find some performance opportunities. So I need the great Basschat collective help - any ideas we could explore? This is the man: http://www.jazz.com/...-elliott-shalom http://simpletone.co.../elliott_levin/ Thank you all in advance for any help Edited November 6, 2013 by bluejay

Silvia Bluejay
Inspiring stuff indeed. We had ended up at the Triumph Brewery almost by chance after asking if there were jam nights in town, and we were blown away by the quality of the musicianship there. (When we went back the following night we also met and admired double bassist Jason Fraticelli and drummer Tony Flagiello, among others.) The jam night has moved away from Triumph since then. Nah, I didn't get up, Funkgod - I wouldn't remotely have been good enough to even simply stand on the same stage as those guys, let alone play with them. Conveniently, there was no left-handed bass to be borrowed, so that was my excuse... I'll have to do a search on jam nights in London and see if I can come up with something. From what I understand, Elliott isn't looking to walk into a large-scale paid gig, only to play a bit with like-minded musicians and make a few friends this side of the pond. funkgod
There are some great players on basschat with loads of equally amazing bands, some im sure he will fit right in with, down that way.... Urb has a great jazz funk band the J-sonics, Gary "Gaz66" has an amazing band " the sound stylistics" (ex JTQ ( and for my ears in the best line up that ever was JTQ and the driving force that made them Kick)) im sure if you PM these guys they are more inclined to know whats going on in that field down your way and may be able to help. just a thought,
