livingbasshead
I stumbled across this video and thought I'd share it in case it hasn't been posted here before. If I could afford to, I'd have a new set of Rotosound Swings every gig - the bright tone is important in my sound. This is a quick method to brighten up the sound of your strings - I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to do this regularly (discuss below) but if you're strings are a little dead sounding, try this and see what difference it makes - it really works quite well. I have noticed that when I do this the brightness doesn't last that long - maybe there's some metallurgical explanation to this? Anyway - check it out.... 'Shlap the sh*t out of the Shtrings'... Sharkfinger
Will give this a try. Will also see if it's the act of loosening and re-tightening the string that has the effect by only 'shlapping' a couple of them.
