sgh
I'm a novice at recording & am wondering whether to buy an external mic so I capture the sound of the Streamliner Amp or whether I can go directly from the Streamliner to the Apogee Duet 2? The Apogee 2 has "(XLR and 1/4”) built into a single connector" so I may be able to go directly between the two devices?
AntLockyer
Could maybe send the effects loop out to the Apogee if it comes out hot enough. I think you'd be better off spending your money on a DI rather than a mic.
sgh
Thanks. So regarding the DI, that would be something like this? http://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/ART-X-Direct-Active-DI-Box/29Q
AntLockyer
That would do it.
JapanAxe
Surely no extra DI box needed. Just connect straight from Streamliner DI output to Apogee input. Level is controlled by Volume knob 2nd from left.
moonbass
I've always got good results going straight out of the Streamliner's DI. You can chose pre or post tone section. Mines ever so slightly noisy post eq, but I think most others are pretty clean. A very nice DI box or expensive desk with good pre's would sound better, but only if you're spending mega bucks and have a good engineer. AntLockyer
Ah I didn't see a DI output listed on the specs I looked at. Many apologies.
sgh
Could someone recommend the DI cable I need please, there seem to be lots of different ones available. Cheers
JapanAxe
Standard balanced mic cable ( XLR male to female) should do it.
