Ashdown Preamp Valve

Hello all,

I'm going to replace the preamp valve in my ABM500 combo to spruce it up a little!

Has anyone performed such an operation in the past? If so, what valve did you use, and would you recommend it?

that's an oxymoron.

assuming this is a 12ax7/ecc83, if you want to warm it up some, a mullard/brimer/amperex would likely help. if you are after a bit less breakup maybe an RFT or Telefunken.
