JuliusGroove
Anybody know a good website to get high quality straps? I'm envious of anyone that doesn't have a terrible guitar village one such as I.. Nice leather would be handy.. Thanks!

KK Jale
http://www.bearstraps.com/ ... made in London, fab leather, great service. If the width's not enough, ask Rupert to do a custom.
Pow_22
+1 for Bear. He made me a custome strap that was the bees knees. Really good think proper leather that smelt and looked amazing!

discreet
As usual I recommend Minotaur straps. Greek leather, padded, extra wide (4.3" - 11cm), long (adjustable to 59" - 150cm) and great value. I've had mine for years and it makes my P bass seem very light. http://www.minotaur....dsl04numjd9e902 Don't be put off that they're based in Greece - mine arrived in four days. Support the Greek economy! Edited November 12, 2013 by discreet

I like the fact that there are no plastic fixings to break unpredictably. Just leather and my straplocks. Also Leathercraft in Liverpool make great straps too. Thunderbird
I always use the wide Levys or Planet waves straps and find them really good and they can be picked up for £20-£30 depending what style and width you have

Deep Thought
I used to be all in favour of thick, heavy leather straps-until I owned one. These days I much prefer thin and flexible-much more comfortable and just as tough. Both mine are simple two-piece slotted leather ones with no buckles or plastic bits. My main one is a bog standard Fender strap, which suits me fine. I do like the Italia ones.

Billy Apple
I just had Bob at Brookwood http://brookwoodleather.com/ custom make me a strap. Not cheap (but I had some fancy bits added), but excellent comms and quality. Plus he's in the US, so there is a customs charge, but I've got a first rate strap. Highly recommended. synaesthesia
Seriously: http://www.slapring.com/en/shop/productinfo/slapstrap_divine.php Have all kinds, comfort strap, levys, etc etc but bought a few of these when the prices were more sensible a few years ago, have to agree the prices are ridiculous now, but seriously best strap ever, super comfortable, infinitely adjustable in a flash, very sturdy, very secure. The 'divine' model is softer and has a worn in feel, and the normal one is stiffer like a new shoe.

DolganoFF
After trying many kinds of straps over the years, I settled on Levy's cotton straps like this one: http://www.thomann.de/gb/levys_mssc8_blk_gitarrengurt.htm Decent comfort, doesn't slip on most clothes and can be played bare -chested too
