aidanhallbass Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) Just thought I'd share my finalised project, Started off as a bog standard Epi Thunderbird (not the classic IV pro) mainly due to the fact that the input jack is front facing - more authentic looking. I fitted the following: Hipshot HB6C Tuners Hipshot Supertone Bridge Custom made '66 Thunderbuckers Gibson truss rod cover Gibson tophat volume and tone knobs Ernie Ball Power Slinkys Looks the business now. I may be tempted to get a Classic IV pro in the future and transfer all the hardware to that. I'd like to know what you think! Edited November 12, 2013 by aidanhallbass Quote
henry norton Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Yes indeed. I don't know why Gibson doesn't make a chrome Thunderbird humbucker anymore 'cos they're one of the best looking pickups ever, and the sound, a world away from the tame soapbars they use these days... blah.... moan.... complain.... whinge How are you finding the Thunderbuckers??? Billy Apple Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 This is great! I'm just starting a Non Reverse Thunderbird build here and I'm a bit torn between the 66 'Buckers and the Max's. Would like to know your thoughts on the 66's and please post up some sound files if you can Quote
