The last pictures of this bass were posted on the 15th April 2014, so almost exactly a year later to the day here's the update! Not the most overwhelming, but at least things are moving.

They show the arm cut he's put on and the first base-coat, which I thought would be white, but appears to be clear. Next a bit of flattening he says. He seems to be doing one coat a week.

Coming together nicely Sean, can't be long now 'till it's finished.

He's got the clear coat to do now. It'll be a few weeks I bet

Bit of gold flake..

I thought it looked a bit patchy, but John assures me that it's just the photo. We both agreed that it needed a bit more gold. Once that's done, polish it up, bish bosh, job done, quick as you like

Looking good.....whats the timescale on completion now?

No idea. I'm not even asking for one. It will be done when it's done.

Quick up-date here. Phoned John today to see how he's getting on. He said he was on his third try of getting the gold flake on. Apparently to get a thin even coat is v diff as it seems to go on in fits and starts. I got the impression the poor feller was struggling. He said if the gold was heavier it would be easy. So that's what were doing, more gold Vicar.

Some news here. John has tried his best with the gold flake, but he's not been happy with the results. So long story short, we're going with Olympic white.

2 1/2 years so far? Any longer BC builds?
