Grand Wazoo
It's only when I see some very good youtube bass covers that I realize how complicate were some of Zappa's songs, these are a few examples

paul_5
I've known Zappa's stuff was scary for a while now. The RNCM have/had some Zappa scores in their library for a few years and I managed to borrow some for a week. Yowza, yowza, yowza!
well if it is on youtube, I'd like to see it, but to get those 3 good version above, I have had to skip through at least 10 badly done ones which eventually I didn't pick, but never seen yours. I think Marlowe DK does a good job on Dirty Love, but the first one i.e. Peaches is my fav.
xilddx
Just listened to the Echidna's Arf one, very good indeed, if a little soulless, but you can't deny the skill on show, flawless! This is mine, I cringe at the timing in some of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=focGv64Wj0A Edited November 14, 2013 by xilddx

Peaches has some really weird stuff going on in there. Ahead Of Their Time?
Excellent!!! Zappa was not only a great composer but very a clever bloke who knew how to put a great group of musicians together.
White Cloud
Zappa was a modern day genius; innovative, experimental, fearless and ground breaking. That is what music is actually all about. Been a fan for 35 years and have ALWAYS been hugely impressed by the complexity of the music.

Billy Apple
I listened to an interview with this wifey who used to be his secretary/PA. The interviewer was alluding to what a crazy, drugged up time it must have been working around Zappa. But, she said No, he was completly organised, lucid and serious about everything he did. I don't know much about his work outside of Dancing Fool and Jewish Princess, but this is my favorite track.. (so far)..
