Nothing wrong with the Stones, but what a sad state of affairs for the music businesss when a 50 year old band and a bunch of OAPs are the declared best of the best.

To be fair it isn't a general industry awards thing, this is specifically from readers of Classic Rock Magazine so it just reflects the more mature readership of that publication. They voted for Temeprance Movement as best new band for instance, who specifically sound very Aerosmith/Black Crowes ie not particularly 'modern' at all. The readership votes for what they know or what sounds similar to what they know, no great surprises here.
