bartelby Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 So they cut Bill Ward from this too? Quote
flyfisher Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Following their Hyde Park live shows and a Glastonbury headline set this summer The Rolling Stones were named band of the year Nothing wrong with the Stones, but what a sad state of affairs for the music businesss when a 50 year old band and a bunch of OAPs are the declared best of the best. KevB Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) To be fair it isn't a general industry awards thing, this is specifically from readers of Classic Rock Magazine so it just reflects the more mature readership of that publication. They voted for Temeprance Movement as best new band for instance, who specifically sound very Aerosmith/Black Crowes ie not particularly 'modern' at all. The readership votes for what they know or what sounds similar to what they know, no great surprises here. Edited November 15, 2013 by KevB Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 And rightly so. They are certainly living legends. 13 is a great album, and to still be touring is to be congratulated Quote
