The Legoheads
Is there any way to ID the make of strings fitted to a bass...? I changed the strings on a secondhand Ric I bought but am not too sure about the new ones. It would be great if I could identify the strings previously fitted or at least narrow them down. The only distinguishing features of the old strings were red binding and brass ferrules. Any ideas...?
6stringbassist
DR's don't have any silk binding, so that counts them out, possibly Rotosound ?.
lee650
Hi Red binding could be rotosound strings, they tend to be quite rough to the touch, great rock tone!!! not used them for a long time though-all the best- lee

Jean-Luc Pickguard
If they feel like sh*te & each string sounds totally different they'll be rotosounds from the same batch as the last three sets I bought
