neilb Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 2010 US Std Jazz, has the newer Hi mass bridge. The screws sit proud of the barrels and shred my right hand whilst playing. Im looking at ordering some shorter ones that would sit "inside" the barrel rather than poke out at the top. Could some kind person let me know what diameter these are. Im looking at getting ones that are 8mm long. Also, do the thread pitches vary? Any idea where I can get such items? Thanks neil Quote

DolganoFF Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Yeah, they can be filed down (the side facing the bridge plate, don't file the key slot side...) Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I would shim the neck. I've just done this on my guitarists Telecaster when I installed GraphTech Saddles which had longer screws. A couple of thin card strips at the bridge end of the neck pocket worked an absolute treat. Quote
Vinny Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Just use the screws from those small, loud, trebly guitars. As long as the allen key is the same, the thread will be. Quote
cameltoe Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I read a post on here before about someone finding these on Allparts or similar. Let me see if I can find it. Quote
