Damonjames
Ok so it's not a full blown stingray, but it is a US MM SUB 5 and I am massively excited. This started as a search for my first 5 string and hadn't really wanted a MM but my band situation changed and I came across this in PMT in manchester and couldn't leave it. Thanks for the heads up stingray pete! Ill try and get some pics up soon. One very happy bassist!

Damonjames
Hey you guys, try these links! http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/107141653@N07/10892944886/ http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/107141653@N07/10892934166/ http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/107141653@N07/10892919445/ It looks black but it's a charcoal colour. Can anyone recommend a supplier for a new scratch plate to replace the god awefull chequer plate one? I'm thinking of a pearl one! This bass is "used" but besides some slight rust on the strings I am struggling to find any signs of use, it's as good as the day it left SLO!
Please not pearl, for God's sake!! It has to be 3-ply. Black/white/black OR White/black/white. The Bass Doc will make it for you. No other options are acceptable. Yes, I am the pickguard police...
stingrayPete1977
Just go to ebmm (bass direct will get you one) if its the same size, they are cheaper than the replica ones on ebay?!

No, I'm sorry. Tort is an abomination which is only just acceptable with aged oly white OR sunburst. Tort with black is actually illegal. stingrayPete1977
My 2007 was black and pearl, awful.
stingrayPete1977
Fitted a black gloss 3 ply but with the white pup, I love it. discreet
Those 3-plies are very classy. Shows the outline of the guard without having to have a totally inappropriate (and unlawful) guard colour. stingrayPete1977
Sets the pup cover and selector knob off nicely I think, it was fretless with leds too, proper bitsa but the best of the three, go figure

Damonjames
I think the faux chequer plate guard tops the list of illegal scratch plates... Not sure what MM were thinking, but for me I think it needs tort/pearl to distract from the textured finish.
