Dorset and Somerset Bass Bash 2014: Post Event Critique

Well, that was a fantastic morning / afternoon. Bens workshop is good and him and one of the apprentices were there, had us all grinding frets down and reseting necks. Well worth it as an event.

It was brilliant. I was expecting just a normal setup workshop and was a bit daunted by the thought of doing a complete fret dress but Ben and Howard explained it really well and talked me through it all. My Overwater Classic (Tanglewood-made one) was badly in need of some fret work and bow it plays bloody brilliantly!

I think I'll be buying some tools from him soon as I have loads of confidence in doing my own fret dressing now (and this coming from the guy who paled at the thought of taking the neck off his bass).

Keith, thanks very much for setting that up, it was really great, learned loads & it was fun too!
Ben & apprentice Howard were excellent at passing on their knowledge. It was nice to share the experience with Graham, Jim, Mornats, woody & Chris (woody's bandmate) who I used to be in a band with 27 years ago!
Cheers,
Norm

Glad you had a good bash and sorry I couldnt make it.

Also sorry to hijak the thread but would anyone who went to this be interested in having the bass relay bass next. I'm trying to get it from me in Bristol to either Devon or Weymouth and you all seem in the right part of the world to help it on its way. PM me if you are interested.

Cheers
Steve
