stingraybassman
Hello people, Im after a bit of advice. I have a new 63 vintage reissue pbass, it has a beautiful thin nitro finish. I am shooting a music video outdoors on friday and obviously it might be quite cold. I have major fear that the fish might check, assuming I let the bass acclimatise for a while before i get it out, will it be ok? Thanks in advance
MarkG3
Hey, yea as far as I know if you let it get used to the temperature slowly then it should be ok like you've said. I think I've heard it checks or is at risk of checking when it changes conditions pretty quickly, so example from a heated house not in a case straight out to the cold out of the case. I could be wrong so I'm sure others will be along who know more than me Have you got any pics? Sounds like a nice bass, I love nitro finishes. Good luck with the video! BigRedX
Checking to me says: time to get the old finish stripped off and replaced.
