How do you replace a nut on a p bass mim

[Black Coffee]

Is this as simple as removing one and replacing it with another the same size?
Is it likely to be glued in place and need persuading to come out?
Are the measurements given on replacements the full length of the nut or the distance from string centre to string centre?

I found removing easy enough and cleaning the "groove"
the replacing it and sticking in a new one was a bit more harder for me, but i'll learn there are some good Videos on YouTube i think
