MuddBass
Hi all, I have used (non-recessed) Jim Dunlop strap locks on my Sei bass for a number of years. Recently I've noticed an annoying squeek coming from them! Has anyone else had this problem? They still seem secure, but I'm not sure what to do to stop the squeek. Any comments / advice gratefully recieved before I go and get a new set! [attachment=148974:IMG_00000030.jpg]
bartelby
Dab of vasaline?
NancyJohnson
Take them off the strap, small blob of Vaseline between the rear washer and front fixing, reassemble. I find the leather on Levy's straps to be a little thick for the Straploks, so a little bit of greasy stuff stops them rubbing togther. Otherwise, try a mousetrap P

MuddBass
Will have a think, I've used some graphite (pencil) around the small ball bearings and this seems to have helped. I don't really like the though of using sprays etc, as they might tarnish my leather strap - (i suppose i could always spray after removing from the strap first ) I'll see how long the pencil / graphite lasts Thanks folks Edited November 22, 2013 by five-string.co.uk

Grangur
Tap washers don't squeek. Not as "rock n roll" as beer top washers. but they come in packs of 4 and a lot cheaper
