xilddx
I want to make synth and dubstep bass sounds and control effects and what have you using a Keith McMillen Softstep and a swell pedal into the MacBook Pro using Apple MainStage. I also need normal bass sounds, probably amp/cab modelling like I do on the POD X3 Live I have (which may be retired if I can get all this new stuff working). I haven't bought anything yet, but I already have the MacBook with Logic 9 and MainStage. Any of you doing this? I'm a bit clueless and not sure what I need despite reading up a bit on it. Do I need an ADC as well? Any reliability issues? Is the Soft Step or 12 Step best for this? Thanks for any help you can give me. xilddx
f***ing 'ell, think I'll get my ouija board out. Probably less scary than this pedal board anyway.
BigBassBob
I'd help if I could but I've never attempted using software-based effects I'm afraid.
codemarla
I'm doing something very similar, but I don't use a pedal to control effects, I tend to have the effects automated. There's some demo videos in this thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/223148-live-dubstep-bass-guitar-wobble-using-ableton-live-9/

urb
Nige!!!! Hello... so sorry just not been doing a lot of BC-ing lately (I have a hectic life so not much time for surfing etc) I'm doing the same shiz bro - and I think you need to get hold of Ableton and I just bought a softstep and expression pedal - and also one of these: http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B005PM4UK4 (you don't have to buy it from Amazon obviously sorry) Might actually be better if we got together for a hang and chat rather than typing zillions of words here - Codemarla's vids are great but I'm more into doing stuff in real-time than pre-plotting automation etc - although I can see how effective that is. I'm going to DM you later with a few suggestions - and maybe we can hook up sometime soon for a play and to collective figure some of the sh*t out together Edited January 9, 2014 by urb
ambient
I'm looking at getting a Softstep and using MainStage 3/Logic Pro for my effects. Did you finally get this to work ?
