Beedster
That would be mu dream bass if it's a Precision neck, which I don't think it is. I reckon it'll go for £400 to be honest, good basses are selling low at the moment so that rather mongrel, fugly and abused thing will struggle. At £400 I would take it though
Ghost Rider
I'll wait with anticipation for the eBay hammer to fall. I'm gonna stick my neck out & say it'll go for £750 give or take a few quid because there will be the odd dafty out there! Prime_BASS
I'm going for it if anyone is interested. No idea what to pay though but my caiking is kinda low with Christmas coming. If anyone is interested I'll be taking the neck off it and selling it on, but will obviously fond out if it is indeed a pukka fender neck or not first. My favourite pickups all in one bass, and in cream.

chaypup
I've never had GAS for a Fender before - that is a seriously nice bass!
Urban Bassman
Each to their own and all that but personally I think he's ruined a perfectly good bass...IMHO of course!

[/quote] I'd be surprised if it is genuine Fender, especially given the era in which he says he bought it (Fender made quite a fuss after all of their recemnt decision to sell original necks and bodies, I always get the impression that previous parts were 'licensed by' as opposed to 'made by'). I may of course be wrong, Wateroftyne is probably the man to confirm ..... And yes, one ugly bass for sure. Might sound awesome, might be a total plank, but always gonna be ugly
Ghost Rider
I don't think I'd bid on this even after 10 cans of Stella & that's when most of my internet shopping is done
Prime_BASS
Could easily be a part some had sold on from a whole one, way back when. I know what I'm going to do with it if I win. Strip it, paint it, get rid of that nasty switching system and rewire to volume tone for each pickup, or a straight volume for each pickup. Get a proper neck for it and blah. However attractive the mongrel might appear, there's a lot of risks in buying something that far from original - and that's over an above the risks in buying a 70's Fender full stop. The routs don't look all the clever for a start. You could open the case and get a bit of a fright To get the bass you wnat it to be, you'd be far better of buying an MIJ Jazz with the neck and finish you want and getting Howard (Bass Doc) to install the P-PUP etc. C

Tbh I have a set price I won't go over and it's bot much more than what it is on now. If it goes over I won't get it.
Beedster
Well it's £600 with an hour or so to go so is potentially a decent deal for anyone looking for something like this. Despite its looks I really like it, but am a little over-encumbered with basses one way or another. Saturday night finish before the pubs close is never a good way to secure a high price

Beedster
Yes, I think that went very high for what it is. I wouldn't be surprised to see it for sale again soon, or parted out
