Yamaha TRB1006

A mate of mine is after a six string bass and has been offered a Yamaha TRB1006 for £400 - is it a good bass and is that a decent price? I don't know much about Yamahas, or indeed 6 strings, cheers.

as a general rule Yamaha basses are always built well,and are a good buy.The trb series have a generous string spacing and should feel comfortable.Their eq systems are very useable.If eventually you don`t fall in love with these fine basses you won`t lose a lot of value because of their quality.The price sounds about right and you are getting a lot of decent bass for your money.........

Definitely, I recently paid £480 for one which is closer to what they go for second hand. Really happy with it, £400 is a steal

As an update, he's bought it: paid £375 delivered so sounds like a bargain. He should get it Tuesday and I'm seeing him Wednesday, so will report back when I've had a noodle.
