Stripping paint of hardware

Hi I've recently picked up a used bass with the bridge and tuners painted black. The paint is starting to flake and underneath looks to be anodised gold.. So is there way way of stripping the paint without harming the gold finish underneath?

Nitromores. Then wash it well after it's done it's stuff.

Or a heat gun would do the job. If mild heat affects the metal finish it would be very poor hardware.
