xgsjx
Pretty much that. Whenever you cover a song, even if it's totally redone, what one gives you & the band the most fun & enjoyment? In my last band, we always had fun messing about with Use Me (Bill Withers). Also had fun playing Sir Duke & in a previous band we did Shy Boy (Talas) which has one of the most fun solos to play (though easy to mess up too). What's yours? slumjacket
Really enjoying playing Born on the Bayou CCR, nice groove and the band all like playing it. We've still to see if it goes down well at a gig but good fun to play. I used to love playing The Allman Brothers Whipping Post, it was always loud and self indulgent. Hobbayne
Are You Gonna Go My Way by Kravitz. I love the intro when the first guitar starts followed by the second and then the bass high up on the top E. Lovely groove too.
Ziphoblat
We do our own adaptation of Muse's interpretation of Feeling Good. Always great fun to play, everyone in the band enjoys it and it's a crowd pleaser.
Lozz196
The KKK took My Baby Away by The Ramones. Absolutely love it, even though I have to bellow A flat A flat A flat at the guitarist every time we play it. I`m sure he puts his hands on F sharp just to give me a fit! bonzodog
Stray Cat Strut by the Stray Cats. We are only a 3 piece and all three parts are really enjoyable to play so its a joint favourite
AntLockyer
Messing with the kid. I play the part I saw form a german TV performance (or at least what I remember of it). Cracking tune.
Roland Rock
Probably "Boys Keep Swinging" from my old Bowie band. Great groove, enjoyable (simple) backing vocals and I could really wig out (musically) towards the end,

jakenewmanbass
The William Tell Overture... Just making the point that the idea of 'covers' is a bit strange in all but 'covers' bands as most people that make a living playing music play the music of others most of the time... so in fact original music is quite a small (but nevertheless significant) part of the business. Muzz
At the moment (and it does change quite regularly), it's a toss-up between Van Halen's Jump and Luther Vandross's Never Too Much... I may be musically bipolar...

steve-bbb
Weve just rehearsed Ironic (Alanis) and will be gigging it for first time this saturday and already it is becoming the whole bands favourite
Japhet
Used to play You Oughta Know in a previous band. Fab fun but really needs a female singer. My current favorite is Company Graveyard by the Buddaheads. Edited December 4, 2013 by Japhet
chris_b
The cover band have played songs I love, which have died a death and songs I hate, which go down well. So I'm not sure what I know anymore! The songs I prefer to play are not played by the cover band but, in my view, the whole point of a cover band is the audience reaction, so (avoiding the question) my favourite cover, and the one I enjoy playing the most, is the one that gets the best reaction from the audience.
