Twincam Posted December 4, 2013 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Ok think i found answer to why my bass was buzzing when i touched the strings etc. The jack only has one wire connected to it, i assume the other wire next to it in the sheath is the earth that needs to be connected to the other side. looks like it was soldered on and came off. Pic included. Am i right in my thinking?. kevin_lindsay Posted December 4, 2013 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Your bass works right now as the electrical screening paint in the cavity is completing the circuit (albeit far less efficiently than a wire wikk do), do, yes, get a proper earthing wire between the circuit and the output jack.
