i took a pedaltrain bag full of goodies (already wired-up) as hand-luggage to Dublin in the summer. (i had my pre-concerns.. )

the guitarist took his Line 6 pod-live thing.

we both passed our stuff through the x-ray machine consecutively.

the (late-fifties-looking) security-guy checking it, looked at me, and said "Old-school, i like that."

:D

I had my pedal board swabbed and sniffed by a dog at different occasions apart from obviously putting it through the x-ray machine. As long as you didn't have your fingers in anything illegal while packing your pedals, you'll be fine...

I had Belfast airport confiscate my drum key once. Ok, my "drum key" was a socket wrench with a 3/8" socket on the end, but still ........ " You can't take tools on the airplane", said the robot.

I've had no bother taking pedals through airports. Just don't have batteries in them.

This, to be on the safe side - I've been asked a few times recently when sending packages through the post whether they had batteries in them, guess they're clamping down on it.
