Help me out, what would you buy? Musicman

Help!

I've got severe GAS for a Musicman Bass. Right now there are a couple of tempting propositions in the classifieds and I don't know which way to turn.

The rest of my basses are Fender Jazzes - as much as I love them I don't think the Mrs will tolerate the purchase of a forth!

So as a Fender Jazz lover - which way would you advise me to leap?

Sterlings have a slim jazz like neck. And loads of tonal options with the 3 band and the 3 way pickup selector.very light too. Love mine

Where abouts are you??? I'm sure that somebody would let you try theirs if you posted where you live..Personally, I would try to rip Sshorepunk's arm off and try to buy the '95 Ray I sold him...

I used to have one and loved it. Wish I hadn't moved it on - and I'm the same as you too, I only own Fender Jazz Basses currently.

Have you considered a Bongo? I like them just about the best of any current EBMM bass myself, and if you like the sound of a Jazz then the more defined sound of a Bongo might be more to your taste than a Stingray or Sterling.

I currently have a 2011 USA 2eq MM Stingray 4,
A USA MM Sub bass and a SB14 by Sterling.
Come over to Manchester and try all 3 for free 😄😄
All slightly different, but very similar.
The sb14 is nice, it's slightly lighter, feels more compact and has a more jazz feel neck. It's probably more flexible than the stingray as it has a selector switch and 3 band eq but still has the stingray 'sound'









After, you can buy one or all three if you like 😄
