skydivepaul
Had a band rehearsal tonight before our first gig this Friday Went along to 309 studios in leeds and used a big trace Elliot combo they had set up for us Wow it was awesome. For an old beat up amp it sounded great, great tone and loads of power. It was big old thing 4 x 10 speakers with a graphic equaliser, really want one now Except for...... This thing weighed a ton! I go to the gym and our drummer can bench press 300+ lbs and even he struggled to pick it up on is own!
Fionn
I agree, they sound great. They can be bought for a couple of hundred quid these days, but technology has moved on. Could you really be bothered with the hard work of moving the thing around?

[/quote] True enough the thing was heavy. Just googled the amp and it was a gp12 amp I have a tc electronic bg250 and that thing is a real lightweight compared to the trace Elliot Need to have a strong roadie
Fionn
it's 70 or 80lbs, or something crazy like that, isn't it?

tonyquipment
I think the weight adds to the character of the TE sound !
FinnDave
I had one of these years ago and used to carry it up (and down) three flights of narrow stairs to and from our flat everytime we had a rehearsal. We rehearsed twice a week, the damn thing nearly killed me. Sounded great, though!
Alec
Had one for about 20 years - loved the sound, hated the weight. Believe it was around 50kg. Moving across to an RH450 head and GenzBenz NEOX-212T cab cost me a pretty penny, but my back thanks me every time I gig. As do the bandmates who no longer get roped in to help carry the TE beast.
