Bloc Riff Nut
Thinking about putting a LED in my amp. Here's my half stack. Cheers, Phil. Edited January 14, 2014 by Bloc Riff Nut
icastle
It depends on the type of LED chosen. The formula is: Resistance = Supply Voltage - LED Voltage Drop _________________________________ LED Current So, to use some likely figures: Supply Voltage = 42V LED Voltage Drop = 2.1V LED Current = 30mA ... would need a 1330Ω resistor, which doesn't exist. So you go for the next highest value, in this case 1500Ω (or 1.5KΩ) The only other thing you need to consider is the wattage of the resistor, I won't bore you with another formula, but for the above example you're going to need a 2W resistor. HTH EDIT: Sorry about the poorly formatted formula, I can't find a way of laying it out neatly.
