Capo for bass

I'm having a 36" Shuker built ,I'm planing to D tune 2 steps across all strings & use a capo on the 2nd fret for normal tuning .Can anyone recommend a make of Capo .

Shubb make excellent quality, and well engineered capos. I use one on my Irish Bouzouki. I've only ever put it on the bass to muck around, but the neck-size adjustment certainly accomodated the chunky neck of my Aria SB900, no probs. They are not the cheapest capos, but they are very good.

If you're getting a custom build, might be worth looking at the bridge Michael Manring uses to drop all strings in one go?

It's great for weird tunings too as you can engage each string individually.
Putting it on and taking it off the bass can be a bit slow though.
