Firebass or 602 Series MkVIII ?

Played through a friends Firebass 700 last night at rehearsal and it suited the band very well. I'm torn between buying this Firebass or an older USA made MkVIII head on eBay. If you had the choice, which would you go for?

I'd go for the one you know and have tried and liked, and which works well for you and the band. Assuming the condition & price is right, of course.

And also assuming you haven't heard or tried the ebay alternative so are buying blind (or should that be 'buying deaf'?).

I had a fire bass for about 15 years, brilliant, awesome amp - it's the one I still hanker after now.....

Firebass has lots of features, pre/post DI, effects loops etc. Having owned one, I found two disadvantages. Firstly - heavy (but traditional amp @700W needs big transformer. Secondly - you will lack power with 8 Ohm cabinet, need to have 4 Ohm or even better 2 Ohm. For the money they are very good,, I found the bass 'tighter' and better defined than the VBA 400 I had at the same time.
