risingson
I'm glad you post up so much music BB5, I see a some people on this forum using OT all the time but never talking music really, and it's the thing that we all have in common so don't ever stop posting cool tracks. I originally heard the massive attack sample, obviously being a teen in the 90's etc. But was well into prog , fusion and 70's rock when at music college. One of our lecturers played us this as he knew i was a Tommy Bolin fan. He's on guitar i think. Sounds like him anyway. I've wanted i for time but could never remember what the track was called. But as i type this i realise it was on GTA IV and i could have just checked the booklet. Edited December 14, 2013 by Lord Sausage
Lord Sausage
Another lecturer introduced us to this, which we loved. Then made us play it as part of our ensemble exam. I had great lecturers! http://youtu.be/kRkkJKf-hnA
steviedee
Billy Cobham's drumming is amazing in this track.

John Wetton's tone, playing and singing on this is great. Allan Holdsworth is his usual genius. Bill Bruford is killing and Eddie Jobson plays some massive fat paddy synths too. A classic. Pity this was it for this line-up. Edited December 14, 2013 by visog
Beer of the Bass
A band I was in as a teenager tried to do Stratus. For a seemingly simple line, it's surprisingly difficult to keep it going consistently for the length of the tune - it's almost like a sequencer part! As I recall, my tendons were always killing me by the end...
lefrash
great left hand work out. I recently played this at a shaun baxter masterclass thing. I ended up playing it for about twenty minutes after all the guitars had a solo!
steviedee
In the Dead of Night is a great track I was jamming it the other day with the drummer from my band. But how can any mortal guitar player attempt to play those Alan Holdsworth parts?
chris_b
Stratus... Lee Sklar on bass. We play this Billy Cobham number... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GINogNjwn5w Edited March 24, 2014 by icastle Link fixed.
toneknob
Stratus is in our current setlist... as is Red Baron. I'm hoping to get this in there one day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-b_h8i9eWU

I also saw this line up play the at Rainbow Finsbury Park (in '76 or '77) I clearly remember getting my chest pounded by the Moog Tarus that John Wetton deployed during Alaska....fabulous stuff.
