What is this!? (help) and valuation - Andrew Demetriou Custom Bass

When I very first started playing my tutor sourced me this bass (second hand) to learn on.

I've had this bass for a good 6-8 years and I'd really like to know some more about it and the luthier.

From what I remember it's definitely a custom job. I know the bridge and tuners are schaller, the fret board could potentially be ebony? neck's set, scale length feels like its medium with 24 frets and it has a what a believe to be a great action. it's got a fair amount of dings and scrapes.

Can anyone shed some light on anything?

Looks great - a quick Google search shows he is local to us (put luthier in the search with his name otherwise all you get is an Australian MP)! Made a guitar for Uli Jon Roth so must have some idea about what he is doing! Looks like he no longer makes guitars/basses though.
