Len_derby Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Since you say the aim is to give your vocalist a break, why not take a different approach? One, or more of the rest you take over the singing. I spent years in the 'can't sing' camp. Like most things, it's down to practise and confidence. Quote

[/quote] a good suggestion and we have not ruled this out. However the best thing about the band is the vocalist i.m.o. (Don't tell the guitar player ). so we are shy of letting the standard drop. lojo Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Assuming the singer is not the guitarist (or drummer) then can they play anything , keys, sax etc ? Just because their having a vocal rest , they still maybe able to join in on the instrumentals Quote
Jonesy64 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 CeciliaAnn - Pixies is an instrumental I have always wanted to have a bash at Quote

uncle psychosis Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Its gotta be Wipeout and Apache, surely. Two massive crowd pleasers and not all that tricky. Quote
jacko Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Theme from Peter Gunn. used to play it to start the second set with my old act. Could never tell whether or not the punters were interested. Quote
tauzero Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Hocus Pocus by Focus. Probably better remembered than Sylvia. Tricky for your guitarist to play everything that the world's greatest ever guitarist managed to put into it though, but I doubt most people would notice. Quote
jacko Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 That would need a hammond organ to sound anywhere near right though. Quote
karlfer Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) The following is done just bass, drums, guitard. Instantly recognisable to me (I SO want to do it!) Yes I am definitely a fanboi on this! Urban Bassman Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Into The Arena....blimey I haven't heard that in ages.... There are quite few instrumentals on Cozy Powell's solo albums IIRC Quote
