ML94
Hey guys Quick question, where on the inter web can I post a 'bass player available' ad that will actually get some replies? I'm just looking to get together with more musicians and diversify my playing as well as enjoying myself. Also if there a gigging band even better! But something along the lines of that . Cheers ML

Thunderbird
You see a ton of ads for musicians wanted/available on Gumtree nowadays or advertise on forums such as this

Chris Sharman
I used "Join my Band" to get with the guys I am with now, just make sure your advert stands out wherever you choose to go. Other websites (including this one) are available. User experiences may vary.
tauzero
Partysounds.co.uk. Drop in to Robannas, Fatback, etc and put "bass player available" adverts up on the noticeboards. Same with the shops - City Music have a noticeboard, I'm pretty sure PMT do too.

CamdenRob
I've tried several people off gumtree and a couple off join my band... mind you there is no shortage of people looking for bass players in London.
Dom in Dorset
I can honestly say that the only replies I've had to adverts placed anywhere have been from weirdos and time wasters . All of my musical contacts have come from (real not internet) networking, meeting people at gigs, open mics etc.

It's a snowball thing, I moved 250 miles and didn't know anyone, found mostly time-wasters on gumtree, went to a few jam nights with my best chops and now I have a nice little network of good players who are also friends.
