30'' is fine for me, in an 8 string that is.
that tune looks lovely, did you import it ans how much did it cost?

The Tune's are not mine. I'm just enjoying the photos on their website. I keep an eye out on Ishibashi to see if one comes up, but not so far...

Edit: Just spotted [url="http://store.ishibashi.co.jp/ec/pro/disp/1/05-326317502"]this[/url] which is pretty much my ideal octave string bass. Roughly £1165 plus shipping and import taxes...

Edit 2: and now spotted [url=http://store.ishibashi.co.jp/ec/pro/disp/1/03-326259302]this[/url]. Not in as good condition, but I prefer the colour and the set neck, and have made an enquiry. Might be my christmas present to myself...

Weird how there's not been any of these basses for ages and then all of a sudden 2 of them show up!

That BC Rich is insane, what a mad array of controls!

I own a Dean 10-string which I find pretty good. Neck is a bit chunky though. There's a bit of neck-dive on it but a suede strap provides enough anti-slippage to obviate that. I've played on a Schecter 8-string ages ago which IIRC was very playable (the Stiletto Studio-8).

What strings do you use? Is there a proper 10-string set or do you have to make one up?

Why not have some more on here , or a seperate thread for 8/10/12 string so more people can see and of course hear them?

I made one up from D'Addario strings. 8-string sets are available, as are 12-string - 10-string are rather less common.
