Old age is cruel so I have to keep things simple these days :-) Ive played guitar all my adult life and currently own a 1999 USA Telecaster, a 2004 Taylor 414 CE, a Mandolin and Ive just ( yesterday ) bought myself a Bass Guitar . . . Its a 2004 Mexican Fender Active Jazz Bass . . . Whenever a Bass guitar was in reach Ive always had a noodle with it . . Ive always wanted my own and at 51 years old Ive finally got one . . . I havent gigged for a million years but Ive always dedicated at least 45 minutes a day to practice . . I cant wait to get to grips with with my new bass . . New strings first but what make and what gauge ??? New battery ?? Cant wait :-) Quote

Bluescaster Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Hi Mark and welcome. I was recommended DR high beams 45-105s a couple of years ago and I haven't used anything else since. They tend to keep their new twangy sound much longer than any other make. Only a personal choice though. Hope this helps, Mick. Quote
