Wow, that takes the biscuit. Does the neck have a cover which comes off? If not you'd certainly have fun inventing bass lines on that.

Uh, let me see. Maybe E, E, E, E, A.

Or A, E, A, E, A, E, ....

Come to think of it there are a lot of songs like that

Who wakes up in the morning and thinks, "I know, I'll cross my drawer full of discarded bass guitar bit with my Kids old Thunderbird 1 toy. I'll make sure the hybrid is completely unplayable for anything other than two thirds of a Status Quo tune, take a picture of it in a room which looks like a cross between a boudoir a shed and bang it on Gumtree for £40"? I'll tell you who... Kev from Sittingbourne.

Clearly someone's had a go at making a copy of this:

This is a guy from a Danish band called D-A-D - this bass is apparently also a 2-string home made job. Looks like it's a cover in front of the neck so it's accessible.

Cant see it being particularly comfortable to play, but people sometimes do go to remarkable & impractical lengths to look like an utter gonk.

Lol, so the strings are A and D then? Jon, what you don't know isn't worth knowing!

Correction - it sounds like they are probably E & A. The band's name is an abbreviation of "Disneyland After Dark" not a possible bassline. The man in the photo is Stig Pedersen and according to Wikipedia

Stig's bass guitars only have two strings or three strings. He found out in the late 1980s that he only used the E and A string when he played, and made it his mark, to have funny, good looking basses. He is also seen using a one string bass at gigs (only one string away from an air guitar). Stig designs his own bass guitars based on his own ideas and imagination.

Wow. I think the full suit of armour would have been more flattering, if a little hot on stage...

Great for tunes like "Rocket" by Def Leppard, "Seek and Destroy" by Metallica, "Love Missile F1-11" by Sigue Sigue Sputnik (or PWEI if you prefer) etc…
