Different for the sake of being different ?

Fantastic! I'd love to be able to try both of those.

When I was getting into music it was the height of the early 70s glam rock era, and bands were full of amazing looking custom guitars and basses, and the idea of owning an instrument that was like anyone else's was simply boring!

When I built my first guitar I must have spent a good 6 months drawing out shapes and making full-sized cardboard mock-ups to get the right balance of originality and practicality.

The musical world would be a very dull place if we all played the same instruments.

I know, and I do like less run of the mill instruments, but how would you play the black one without a strap ?

No idea, and TBH not something that would bother me since I only play standing up with the bass or guitar on a strap, the practicalities of playing sitting down never enter into my instrument buying decisions.

Is it a 12 string bass?

The following bass has some degree of 'different for the sake of being different', but by $%£* I would like to own one.

Nice to look at, probably fun to play.

£2650 to buy.

Plus shipping, taxes, etc.

'T'would be one helluva punt to splash that amount of dosh on a bass that could end up on Basschat for £1000 a few months later ...

Just for intonation mabbe?
It would appear so, but done that way because of the unique bridge arrangement. See towards the bottom of this review:

http://101basses.com/new-atlansia-breeze-bass-the-newest-bass-guitar-from-h-noble/

Although on the diagram it's described as "pitch adjuster", adjusting the pitch with it would seem to alter the intonation.

I must say it's rather an ingenious approach to the issue with strings coming over the bridge - with a B string with windings all the way to the eye, you either have to kink the string or put up with it bulging over the bridge.
